With the Easter holidays soon upon us, and families starting to arrive to Marbella to enjoy the first family break of the year, here we look at what's going on this Easter time here in Marbella.
Religious Celebrations
The famed "Semana Santa" parades will start from this coming Saturday here in Marbella:
To give a brief overview in English, the parades will take place as follows:
- Saturday 23rd March (Sábado de Pasión)
- Parade will leave from Santo Cristo Church at 6:30pm.
- Sunday 24th March (Domingo de Ramos)
- Parade will leave from Nuestra Señora de la Encarnacion Church at 5:00pm
- Monday 25th March (Lunes Santo)
- Parade will leave from Santo Cristo Church at 8:30pm
- Tuesday 26th March (Martes Santo)
- Parade will leave from Nuestra Señora de la Encarnacion Church at 9:00pm
- Wednesday 27th March (Miércoles Santo)
- Parade will leave from Nuestra Señora de la Encarnacion Church at 8:30pm
- Thursday 28th March (Jueves Santo) - National Bank Holiday
- Parade will leave from Ermita del Calvario at 5:30pm
- Friday 29th March (Viernes Santo) - National Bank Holiday
- Legionary candle returning to Christ from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Nuestra Señora de la Encarnacion Church
- Authorisation of the departure of the procession
- Parade will leave from Capilla Santo Sepulcro at 9:00pm
- Saturday 30th March
- No events; shops open as normal
- Easter Sunday 31st March (Domingo de la Resurrección) - National Bank Holiday
- Parade will leave from Nuestra Señora de la Encarnacion Church at 11:00am
